“The expert was once a beginner.”

As I approach closer to the end of my internship period at DigiRanking, I can’t help but agree with this quote more. I feel like I am slowly becoming better as keep trying and working towards being an expert in the field of computer science.

Working closely with the co-founder of the company Shikha Ghosh, I learned a lot of things about how to manage a whole company what responsibilities you have and how to manage the workload.

What kind of communication skills are needed to instruct others and update them about the information they need in the most efficient way. I hope to apply these skills to my company which I will own someday in the future.

After 4 months of working in the professional environment of DigiRanking I feel my technical skills have improved. They provided with the perfect learning environment so that I can improve my React skills and learn new skills like Canva and wordpress.

I’m sure in saying that the level of interaction in the work was my favourite part of the experience. Even though I enjoyed learning about new topics and trying out new tasks, such as the marketing statistics task I finished in Excel (where I created charts using a spreadsheet of data), I discovered that I still preferred the creative marketing tasks, which are the ones in which I have the most firsthand experience, like creative design. I think this explains why I found the first assignment I was given when I arrived on Day 1 to be so enjoyable.

I have made many websites as projects, from my portfolio website to e-commerce websites but making a professional website following a proper procedure instead of doing it at my own pace and in my own procrastinate way taught me how big projects are carried out by a company. I also learned that only working hard is not important but working in an efficient way is more important. Time is money. I learnt how to divide work for each day and how to write a professional code so that it is readable for others and read others code as well as a reference.

The people at DigiRanking were very co-operative and respectful towards me. They maintained a professional working environment where my opinion was heard and valued. We attended a joint meeting every month to discuss any new methods and our progress during the month.

Overall, it was a very learning experience and I hope it will become a steppingstone and a bridge which will connect me to the professional world. I feel like the gap between a college student and a professional working in the industry was filled by my work experience at DigiRanking.
